چکیده

Adoptive T-cell therapy (ACT) is a promising therapeutic approach based on the concept of potent mediated immunity against tumor. The outcome antigen-specific T-cells responses relies interaction between and antigen-presenting cells, which provides signals for generating different phenotypes with roles in tumor removal. However, such often not optimal vivo results low efficacy. To reach full potential response, current research put effort into developing dynamic biomaterials as artificial cells to study regulate activity controlling fate. In this perspective, we provide (1) an overview ACT general behaviors, (2) explore insight how can be used studying regulating (3) discuss conceptual gaps knowledge biomaterials-based immunotherapy.

Engineering antitumor immunity by T-cell adoptive immunotherapy.

The adoptive transfer of antigen-specific T cells has been used successfully to treat experimental tumors in animal models and viral infections in humans, but harnessing the exquisite specificity and potency of T cells to treat human malignancy has proven challenging. The efforts to use T cells to treat patients with cancer have often been informative in identifying limitations that must be ove...

Targeting p53 for adoptive T-cell immunotherapy.

p53 gene mutations occur in most human cancers and result in an altered protein product that accumulates within the cell. Although the observed endogenous human CTL response to p53 is weak, high-affinity, human p53-specific CTLs have been generated from HLA A2.1 transgenic mice immunized with human CTL epitope peptides. In this study, we examine the ability of HLA A2.1-restricted and human p53-...

Adoptive T Cell Immunotherapy for Cancer

Harnessing the immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells has been the central goal of anti-cancer immunotherapy. In recent years, there has been an increased interest in optimizing this technology in order to make it a clinically feasible treatment. One of the main treatment modalities within cancer immunotherapy has been adoptive T cell therapy (ACT). Using this approach, tumor-specif...

T cell immunoengineering with advanced biomaterials.

Recent advances in biomaterials design offer the potential to actively control immune cell activation and behaviour. Many human diseases, such as infections, cancer, and autoimmune disorders, are partly mediated by inappropriate or insufficient activation of the immune system. T cells play a central role in the host immune response to these diseases, and so constitute a promising cell type for ...

T-cell-based Immunotherapy: Adoptive Cell Transfer and Checkpoint Inhibition.

Tumor immunotherapy has had demonstrable efficacy in patients with cancer. The most promising results have been with T-cell-based therapies. These include adoptive cell transfer of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, genetically engineered T cells, and immune checkpoint inhibitor antibodies. In this review, we describe the different T-cell-based strategies currently in clinical trials and put their...
